Another great day here in Spain. Great weather, efficient meet management and for most teams, some great skydiving. We finished round 7 of 4-way by 1:30 and went to lunch. 8-way was to start at 3pm, but the winds prevailed. On hold indefinitely. Nonetheless, 4-way is done for the day. Don´t know yet when the final rounds will happen.

As it stands, Majik is making a run for it. Somebody lit a fire in those guys after round three, because they´ve been tearing it up since. And Norway, too. They were alone in second after round 6, but slipped a little in 7. They now find themselves alone in fourth (third, scorewise) behind Airspeed and France. Golden Knights just appear to be winded, nothing serious.

Unfortunatley I missed Majik´s and the Norgies´ round 5 performances (K,A,E,H,8), but to be honest, I was expecting 28 to be the top score. They must have had nearly perfect rounds. Airspeed´s looked perfect to me. They barely missed a 29.

Italy´s Sinapsi PD is winning the "best of the rest" race. They´re in sixth with a great performance so far, especially considering that they´re trained from a right-hand door, like the French. They scored a 18.6 at they´re nationals this year, minus 4 pointsin video busts. So they´re on track to achieve they´re best average so ever. The next two rounds are not blazers, but the last one should keep them safely above a 19 overall. Oh, and for those who aren´t aware, the outside center for this team is a

female, and she rocks! In fact, the Norgie ladies have already dubbed her the new "Queen of Skydiving," a title she´s too humble to accept, of course. Can you imagine a team with her, Lise Aune, Dawn English and Eliana Rodriguez?

What else? Well, Russia has a couple of really strong teams. One of them also has a girl on the team.

Sweden Phenix is putting in a really strong performance. These guys are completely new, with the exception of they´re player coach Matthias, a former national team member with Velox. When I saw them at the beginning of the year, I would have never guessed they´d be doing a 17 by now. But they are, and they´re knocking on 18´s door.

France has two other teams here, too. They look and fly so much like Maubeuge that sometimes it´s hard to know who is who on the big screen. Both teams are scoring above 17.

Okay, what about the girls? Well, VMax and the Norgies have pulled away from the pack. VMax is still four pts up on Norway, and that shouldn´t change unless VMax stumbles. We´re aiming to gain two points on them over the next three rounds, and hoping they´ll give up two of their own, making it a tie ballgame after 10. Either way, both teams have had exceptional meets.
