Did You
Know..... .....that Sinapsi PD scored a 21.1 meet
average at the Italian
Championship?

Compared to the Swiss national team
Endeavour, Sinapsi PD, the Italian national 4-way team,
is not concerned with the 20.0 average at this point.
Sinapsi burst into the top of the world with their
sensational 21.3 meet average at the FSL Shamrock
Showdown 2003 at the March meet in DeLand. Ever since,
the question was whether Sinapsi would be able to
continue consistently on this performance level. Sinapsi
had not attended another competition since March until
the Italian national championship this week. The Sinapsi
result of 21.1 points after ten rounds in Italy was its
own
statement. |

the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2003
While the competition draw in March
was fast and the weather allowed only the completion of
eight rounds in DeLand, this week's competition in Italy
used up the whole dive pool and did not offer an
extremely fast competition draw. Sinapsi PD simply
delivered a great performance and lived up to their own
and other's expectations. It seems once again as if the
Italian team will be ready to compete for the medals at
this year's world
meet. |

The competition was not very
challenging for Sinapsi at the Italian nationals. Ex3mo
in second place did not really challenge the top scorer
seriously with a 15.3 average. Sinapsi was competing in
a league of their own. However, Sinapsi still has
another more serious test on the team agenda before
their trip to the world meet in September. Arianna de
Benedetti, Luca Marchioro, Livio Piccolo, Marco Arrigo
and Stefano Secchiaroli (video) are already on their way
to Russia where they will compete at the Malevsky
Memorial World Cup
event. |

There will be much tougher
competition in Russia. DeLand Majik and several Russian
4-way teams are ready to take on Sinapsi PD. And this is
probably exactly what the Italian team is looking for at
this point. The pressure in France will be at the
highest point possible with teams as France Maubeuge,
the Golden Knights, Sebastian XL and the DeLand Norgies
charging for the medal positions. The serious test in
Russia will provide an idea of the meet situation in Gap
in September for the Italian
team. |
NSL reporter
Igor Galvan at the Italian nationals
Igor Galvan, a former NSL Tunnel
Training camper, competed at the Italian Nationals and
provided some more insights about Sinapsi PD and the
competition: "All Sinapsi team members are now
focused on Gap, even though there is another big show
coming soon. They will fly next Saturday to Moscow for
the Malewsky Memorial and test what they have with the
Majik Masters. The team in second place is half of the
8-way team Ex3mo. They also had a great performance
considering their only 20 training jumps in 4-way. The
team consists of three former Formula 5 members and a
former Sinapsi member. They all joined Ex3mo, which will
be the official Italian 8-way team in Gap. The Ex3mo
4-way team was formed two years ago by three former
national champions and Max Pugi, who was on the 1997
Team Perris. Kewara in third place is the Italian
national female team and competed with an alternate at
this
competition." |
